 July 2nd, 3rd, & 4th, Ten Sleep, Wyoming Using the Good Sam phone app we found a little town in Wyoming that was north and east of Coalville.  We wanted to go north and aim to get on I90 eventually.  We chose not to vector through the Rockie Mountains and Denver.   The name of the town is Ten Sleep.  It got its name because it took the Indians 10 nights of sleeping to get to this town from some other well known Indian camps. The Ten Sleep RV park was adjacent to the local rodeo.  We had a nice time visiting the rodeo the nights of July 2nd & 3rd.  July 2nd was the junior 10 & 11 year old steer bucking contest.  The evening of July 3rd was the full adult rodeo competition.  July 1st,  Coalville, Utah Leaving Las Vegas, we continued up I15.  We passed through a tiny corner of Arizona called the Virgin River Pass.  It was dramatic and worth the ride.  We stopped in Walmart in Ogden, UT and then continued on to Echo Island rv park adjacent to I-80 in Coalville, Utah.  Not much to report except we are lucky top have electricity at the rv site because the I80 road noise was significant.  June 30th, Las Vegas, NV Leaving our wonderful hosts, Dan & rose in Rancho Santa Fe, we traveled up the I15 to Las Vegas Nevada.  Not much to report except Las Vegas is sprawl city!  Stayed at a RV park that we had stayed in before, the Hitching Post.  Nice park, and we went for a swim.  The high light of the stay was when Elaine noticed that 4 sheriff deputies were standing outside our RV.  I went out and they asked if I had phoned in a complaint for a disruption.  I said no and life quickly returned to boring.  June 28th & 29th Rancho Santa Fe, Ca From Ehrenburg we continued west to Rancho Santa Fe where we stayed with Elaine's cousin Dan and his wife Rose,  We parked the rv at the gated community pool house and stayed in their lovely home for two nights. Dan and Rose have a house on top of a hill with great views of the local area north of Santa Diego.   Our route from Ehrenburg to Rancho Santa Fe                                          Another cousin, Alice, joined us for diner and a catch up.  June 27th Ehrenburg, Az Decided to break up the trip to San Diego with a stop in Ehrenburg, Az. at the Palms at River Edge RV park.  So when we arrived in Ehrenburg the temperature was a balmy 114F.  After plugging in at our rv spot we found that the house air conditioner would shut off after running for a minute.  Later we learned this was due to low voltage.  This was a learning experience!  Our rv has a heat pump and the compressor is sensitive to line voltage.  We quickly moved to a local Best Western motel for the night.  Life is full of learning opportunities!  I will know in the future to get out my voltmeter right away when the ac complains.  June 25th & 26th Dewey, Az. We said goodbye to Tucson and headed north for a short drive to Dewey Prescott Valley, Az. and our longtime friends Will and Nancy Blevins.  Will and I worked together back in 1978-1983 at Sperry Flight Systems in Phoenix.  We stayed at their house parking the rv in the driveway and sleeping in a real bed! We had a great time catching up on memories and helping Nancy and Will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.  Joining us for the celebration was Will's sister Karen, and John & Marie Boldt.  John also worked with Will and I at Sperry.  June 22nd, 23rd, & 24th, Tucson, AZ Woke up early June 22nd, and headed to Tucson via the western side of the Grand Canyon.  Also did a stop in Williams, Sedona, and Phoenix. Major goals of visiting Tucson was to catch up with old friends and to visit the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and the University of Arizona.
